What we've been up to in Prep...

We're at the end of Term 1! The Preps have had such a wonderful start to their schooling journey. Thank you everyone for your support during our first term of Prep. We hope that you get to enjoy some quality time together as a family over the holidays and have a happy Easter! 

Cross Country

Congratulations to all Preps for participating in their first Cross Country! Thank you to our awesome parent helpers for helping the day to run smoothly. 

Reminders

Easter Hat Parade

Students were invited to wear an Easter Hat for our Easter Hat Parade. We hope that you enjoyed completing this activity together at home.

Holiday Reading

Please try to maintain your reading routine at home over the holidays. Prep children have learnt a lot of new skills during the term, and we encourage them to consolidate these skills during the break. Often we find that skills can be forgotten if not practised!

You will also receive a holiday learning pack this week. Please use these activities to practise handwriting, number writing, Heart Words and fine motor skills.

Upcoming Learning

In Literacy, we have now learnt the sounds for Stage 1 and 2. There are lots of different 3 letter words we can now read, make, spell and write. When we get back to school in Term 2, we will begin to learn our Stage 3 sounds. To compliment our Topic, we are excited to start reading a different Fairy Tale each week in Term 2 as our 'Book of the Week'. 

In Mathematics, we will start next term by continuing to learn about the numbers 0-10 and indentifying part-whole.

Our Topic next term is Fairy Tales. This topic has been very popular amongst the Preps in previous years and we know it will be no different this year! 

In Respectful Relationships we will start off the term with continuing our learning of Personal and Cultural Strengths.

Maths Challenge
