Last term, our amazing Year 10 Media students turned up the energy with their spectacular one-shot music video of ’24K Magic’ by Bruno Mars.

This new crew of filmmakers brought their unique flair, style and sparkle to the project. They planned the choreography, dynamic camera movements, lighting, production design and stunts to make this video shine.

The production was led by the talents of: Lee (Director), Sammy (Assistant Director), Kishaya (Producer), Kaushan (Bruno Mars & Associate Producer), Aerynn (Cinematographer), Alexandra (Choreographer), Amy (Bruno Mars & Production Design), Charlotte (Production Design), Ruby (Production Design), Ryan (Script Supervisor), Goran (Stunts & Effects), Ashton (Stunts & Effects), Trent (BTS Director) and Austin (BTS Director).

A special thanks also go to Ms Danielle Growse (costuming and props), Ms Mel Beal (media support and wrangling), Mr Peter Sarron (generously providing the car), Mr Stefan Sakellaridis (filming and media support) and Mr Troy Jensen (lighting and filming support).

Finally, thank you to all the student extras that helped out behind the scenes! Hope you all enjoy the video!

5-a-side Soccer EISM GALA Day

With storm warnings and clouds brewing the 5-a-side Soccer teams headed off into the unpredictable weather with high hopes on Wednesday 22nd October. Students got prepared by warming up on the courts while the rain moved in and created some real soccer atmosphere.

The competition started strong with every team gaining a win under their belt, a positive start to the day. As the Gala continued the games became more challenging, still the boys teams came away with another win each, as the girls came against some solid competitors.

When the rain cleared and the winds took over our teams suffered some losses. Everyone still having fun being part of the game and developing some news skills to improve future chances.

With some tired bodies and weathered faces we watched on as the Senior Boys played against the Grand final winners, some formidable opponents with outstanding skills. Our boys did not let go of the come back dream but unfortunately the whistle blew and 3rd place was awarded to our team.

Final results for the day were:

Senior Boys 3rd

Junior Boys 5th

Senior Girls 7th

Junior Girls 4th

Congratulations to all participants and thank you to the coaches for their support and time.

All Schools Badminton Championships

After 3 years of competing in one of the most nerve-wracking sporting competitions during our time at school, we are proud to have been able to represent Huntingtower at the EISM All-Schools Badminton.

This tournament fields the best badminton teams from around Victoria - it is not uncommon to compete against state-level players. This made it especially exciting when our team made it through to the grand finals and finished the day with Runners Up medals.

It goes without saying that our coach Faris was the source to our motivation, whereby his tireless dedication to train us weekly allowed us to achieve such an outstanding result. Thank you to Faris for his belief in us and spending an immense amount of time in training us, Mrs Baynham for organising our training times and places, and Mr Sakell for the emotional support on the day!

The Huntingtower Badminton program has gone from strength to strength recently, and we can’t wait to compete again next year.
