From the Principal

“But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, and went to him, and bound up his wounds… and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.”

Luke 10:33–34

At our recent Principal’s Assemblies, we had the privilege of welcoming our newly appointed School Leaders for 2026. On behalf of the Huntingtower community, I warmly congratulate each of these students on this significant honour. To be chosen by your peers is both a recognition of trust and a call to serve with humility, purpose and grace.

Leadership at Huntingtower is never a ‘set and forget’ arrangement. It is not about titles or directing others, but about empowering those around you and helping them shine. True leadership is grounded in service. It is in noticing what needs to be done and having the courage to act.

In the parable of the Good Samaritan, we are reminded of what it means to step forward rather than stand by. When others passed by a person in need, it was the Samaritan who stopped, cared and made a difference. Leadership is all about seeing a need and responding with compassion.

At this time of recognition, it is important to remember that leadership is not confined to those with badges. Each of us has the opportunity to influence our community for good: to be kind, to act with integrity, and to refuse to be a bystander when someone needs a helping hand.

Together, let’s create a culture where everyone feels able to step forward.
