Farewell to Moe - 濱田萌さんへのお別れ

Over the past 12 months, we have been fortunate to welcome Moe Hamada as an intern at Kalinda, supporting our Japanese language program. During her time with us, Moe has made a wonderful contribution to our school community through her enthusiasm, kindness, and dedication to student learning.

Moe has worked closely with students and staff, enriching our Japanese program by sharing her language, culture, and experiences. Her warm and positive approach has helped build students’ confidence and engagement, and she has quickly become a valued and respected member of our staff.

While we are sad to see Moe leave, we are incredibly grateful for the impact she has made at Kalinda. She will be greatly missed by students, staff, and families alike.

We will be officially farewelling Moe at assembly this Friday at 2:45pm, and families are warmly welcome to join us as we thank her for her contributions and wish her well for the future.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the many Kalinda families who generously hosted Moe throughout the past year. Your hospitality, care, and support have helped make her experience in Australia so positive and memorable.

We wish Moe all the very best for the next chapter of her journey and thank her for the lasting connections she has made within our school community.

萌さん、カリンダ小学校のためにご尽力いただき、本当にありがとうございました。これからのご活躍を心よりお祈りしています。(Thank you very much for all your contributions to Kalinda Primary School. We sincerely wish you every success in your future)

Community Afternoon

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all of our families who joined us for last week’s Community Afternoon. It was fantastic to see so many parents, carers, and students coming together to celebrate our school community.

A special highlight was the collaborative community artwork. Watching families work alongside their children to contribute to this shared piece was truly meaningful, and the final result reflects the creativity, connection, and pride we have in our school. Events like this strengthen the partnerships between home and school that are so important for student success.

We will be displaying the community artwork in our school foyer once we have collated it all.

It was also wonderful to see families meeting teachers, visiting classrooms, and gaining insight into the learning environments where students spend their days. We greatly value these opportunities to build relationships and maintain open communication with our community. Thank you again for your time, enthusiasm, and support.

Car Park

A friendly reminder that the staff car park is reserved for staff members and individuals displaying a valid accessible parking permit only. This ensures that staff and those who require accessible parking are able to safely access the school throughout the day.

We kindly ask all families and visitors to use street parking areas when attending the school unless you have a valid accessible parking permit. The only exception to that is between 915-315pm if you are picking up a child from sick bay, in this case you are welcome to park in the visitor park which is directly next to the disabled parking spot just before the 'Staff Carpark' sign. Your cooperation helps maintain safety and accessibility for everyone in our community.

Toilets

To support student wellbeing and maintain appropriate supervision, we ask that all adults on site — including parents, carers, and visitors — use the staff toilets only and do not use student toilets.

This expectation helps ensure student privacy, safety, and comfort at all times. If you are unsure of the location of staff facilities, please contact the office and our team will be happy to assist you.

Thank you for your ongoing support in helping us maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming school environment for all members of our community.

52 Marathons in 52 Weeks

Our school community is proud to support Kalinda parent Curtis Cooper, who is running 52 marathons in 52 weeks to raise funds. Bravehearts will be hosting a fundraising concert in Fitzroy to support this inspiring effort. Please see the poster below for further details.
