Some sports are still finalising fixtures for the term, and these will be available on the app shortly.
Swimming Trials
Well done to all the Year 4-6 classes who had their swimming time trials at the Norwood Pool on Monday.
It was great to see so many students willing to jump in the water and have a go. The girls recorded some fast times and it looks as though we’ll have a hotly contested swimming carnival coming up next week!
Many thanks to Ms Edwards and Ms Powell for organising, to Millie and Ava for timing and to the classroom teachers for being so accommodating.
Our Year 4-6 Swimming carnival will be held on Friday 13 February, 9:30am-1:30pm at the Norwood Outdoor Pool.
Club Cricket
Well done to Estelle (5 Blue) who has been part of Kensington Cricket Club’s Girls Academy this summer. Loreto has also had Maria (7W) involved in the program. The girls have been learning to play cricket under the coaching of Kensington and former SA Scorpions allrounder, Eliza Doddridge. If your daughter would be interested in exploring club cricket at Kensington, please contact Ben.Johnswood@loreto.sa.edu.au
Payneham Football Club – Girls Auskick
Registrations are now open for Payneham Football Club’s 2026 Term 1 program! Registration for the Auskick Program and can be accessed here or via the QR code on the attached flyer.
The sessions run for 8 weeks and will commence on Saturday, 7 February 2026 at the time of 8:00 am and will run for 45 minutes. Norwood, Payneham and SA football legend Garry McIntosh will be running the sessions!
The sessions are open to 5 - 12 year olds and the club is keen to see as many girls attending as possible. This is a great way for children and families to get a feel for the club, with the option to join a junior team for winter season 2026. Come along, bring your friends and become a Junior Falcon!
Student Achievements and Performances
If your daughter is involved in a sport or activity outside of Loreto that you would like to share, please send details through to Ben.Johnswood@loreto.sa.edu.au.
This could be club sport or dance, calisthenics, gymnastics, swimming, chess, surf lifesaving, horse riding, athletics, surfing, cycling, skateboarding, taekwondo, Lego building… any activity you can think of! We would love to be able to recognise their performances in our newsletter. It’s also great for other girls to see all the different activities that are out there and they might see something they’d like to try.
