Learning Across the

Junior School

From the Assistant Principal: Head of Junior School

Welcome to the 2026 school year. It has been a pleasure to see our students return from the holidays refreshed, settled and eager to engage in the opportunities that lie ahead. A very warm welcome is also extended to the new families joining our community.

I have been especially proud of our Reception students, who have made such a positive start to College life. They have settled in beautifully and are already bringing a wonderful sense of joy and enthusiasm to their classrooms.

New Learning Areas for Junior School Students

Significant work has taken place over the holiday period to complete the newly refurbished learning spaces for our Year 4 and 5 students. These thoughtfully designed areas offer custom design classrooms and an art and design hub. These enhancements have been made with the intention of supporting a variety of learning styles while fostering independence, teamwork and curiosity. It has been wonderful to see the girls return and immediately embrace these new spaces.

Our Year 1 students have also moved into newly upgraded classrooms, providing them with a dedicated learning area. In addition, the Junior School Music Department is now located within a classroom in the Performing Arts Centre. This move provides students with greater access to specialised facilities and resources and reflects our longstanding commitment to the arts.

OSHC

We are delighted to welcome our new OSHC provider, the YMCA, and in particular our OSHC Director, Mari Van Metzinger, along with her dedicated team. The space is warm, welcoming and it has been wonderful to see so many students already enjoying the engaging programs on offer.

Families who have not yet completed their OSHC registration are strongly encouraged to do so as soon as possible, even if the service may only be needed occasionally. This is particularly important for families whose children participate in co-curricular activities, as OSHC staff are unable to accept students who are not registered.

Parent Information Sessions

It was lovely to see so many parents and caregivers attend the Reception to Year 6 Parent Information Sessions on Tuesday evening. These sessions provided a valuable opportunity to meet your daughter’s teacher, gain an overview of the year ahead, and connect with other families within your year level.

We look forward to a positive and rewarding year ahead, working together in partnership with our families.
