Welcome back everyone to the start of a new school year! We hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable break and are feeling ready for a fantastic year of learning and growth.

We would like to extend an especially warm welcome to our Foundation students and their families. Starting school is such an important milestone and we are so proud of the way our newest learners have begun settling into their classrooms, meeting new friends and exploring their new environment. We look forward to watching their confidence and independence grow throughout the year.

The start of a new school year is always filled with excitement. Classrooms are buzzing, friendships are forming and students are already settling into routines with ease. It has been wonderful to see so many smiling faces in the yard and to feel the positive energy across the school.

In other news, we are excited to introduce Ms Lu Zhang, who is joining our MLC team on Springvale Campus this year as the 3/4F classroom teacher. She brings valuable experience, lots of enthusiasm and care for student learning and we are so pleased she has become part of our Springvale Rise family.

We caught up with Ms Zhang and asker her a few questions to help us get to know her better.

How long have you been teaching?
I have been teaching for four years and have worked mainly in the western suburbs.

What are you passionate about in education?
I am particularly passionate about teaching Mathematics and encouraging students to share and explain their different ways of thinking. I enjoy creating a classroom culture where students feel confident to problem solve, make mistakes and learn from one another.

What are you excited about this year?
I am looking forward to building strong relationships with all the students and supporting their growth both academically and socially. I am especially excited to engage students in the learning experiences that promote collaboration and problem-solving.

What do you like doing outside of school?Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, relaxing and recharging so I can bring positive energy and enthusiasm back into the classroom.

Please join us in giving Ms Zhang a very warm welcome to our school community. I hope you are all excited for all that the year will bring and I can’t wait to celebrate the learning, achievements and special moments ahead. Thank you for being part of our wonderful school community. Here’s to a happy and successful year for everyone!
