From the Principal's Desk

Welcome Back to the 2026 

I would like to extend a very warm welcome to everyone as we begin the 2026 school year. A special welcome to our wonderful Foundation students and to all students and families who are new to Springvale Rise Primary School this year — we are delighted to have you join our vibrant and inclusive school community. As we start the year, we are also pleased to welcome one new staff member to our team. Please join me in welcoming Mrs Lu Zhang who is currently based on the Springvale Campus in the MLC. I know you will join me in making everyone who has joined our school community feel very welcome as we begin another exciting year together.

 

2026 Principal Team

I am also pleased to confirm the Principal Team for 2026. Once again, I will be supported by three Assistant Principals this year: Miss Carly Jamar, Mrs. Sarah Orme, and Mrs. Mirela Karup.

  • Miss Jamar will have responsibility for Wellbeing and Inclusion and based on Springvale Campus.

  • Mrs. Sarah Orme will be responsible for the Heights Campus. She will be supported by Mrs. Fev Asaridis (Acting Leading Teacher: F-2 Sub-School Team Leader), Mrs. Suzanne Stubbings (Leading Teacher: 3-6 Sub-School Team Leader), Ms. Laura Pelle (Leading Teacher: Inclusion) who is currently on long service leave and Miss Jemma Hamzah (Wellbeing).

  • Mrs. Mirela Karup will oversee the Springvale Campus as Assistant Principal. She will be supported by Mrs. Zoe Hahesy (Leading Teacher: F-2 Sub-School Team Leader), Mrs. Sophie Angelogiannis (Leading Teacher: 3-4 Team, Ms. Kathleen Brabender (Acting Learning Specialist / 5-6 Team) and Mrs Mary Sampieri (Wellbeing and Inclusion / DiPS.

Term 1 Special Events

As always, Term 1 promises to be a busy and exciting time, with plenty of engaging activities planned for our students and the wider Springvale Rise Primary School community. Our much-loved Foundation Family Fun Day is fast approaching, and preparations for the Harmony Day Parade are already underway. Please take a moment to check the final page of this newsletter for other important dates coming up this term. We are looking forward to a wonderful start to the year ahead!
