Vinnies Winter Warmth Appeal
Thank you for your generous donations to our Winter Warmth Appeal. Please continue to bring into Homegroup the following items:
Please ensure that any items you bring are in good condition. Avoid donating products that are torn or damaged, as each item will be given to support a local family or individual in need of support.
Hot Chocolate Fundraiser
On Friday 4 July, in conjunction with the Beanies 4 Brain Cancer Day, the SRC will be hosting a Hot Chocolate Fundraiser. At the cost of $2, students will be able to purchase a Hot Chocolate from outside the foodrooms from 8:15am. All donations raised will go towards the Vinnies Winter Appeal.
Staff Formation Day
Our recent Staff Formation Day, themed “Heart, Head and Hands: Pilgrims of Hope,” was a powerful reminder of our shared mission in Catholic education.
Inspired by Matthew 5:14–16, “You are the light of the world,” we reflected on our personal and collective journey, guided by the voices of two foundational staff. Their stories highlighted our College’s growth and enduring commitment to our vision and mission. The day ended with service activities, putting our faith into action.
Presentation School’s Zoom
Students from our SRC proudly represented our College in a recent 'Presentation Schools Zoom'. Chaired by Sr Susan Miller, the session brought students together from across Presentation schools to reflect on what it means to be part of the Presentation tradition.
Our students responded well to the question “What would a visitor to your school see that would tell them you are a Presentation School?” Students also enjoyed connecting with other schools and taking part in a Nano Nagle Booklet quiz.
NEAA Staff Conference
The NEAA (Nagle Education Alliance Australia) Staff Conference recently took place in Melbourne, beginning at Star of the Sea College and continuing at the Rendezvous Hotel. The event featured keynote speakers Sr Anne Lyons, Matt Pitman, and Rocky Biasi, along with a variety of sessions on Faith, Wellbeing, and Education. Staff from Presentation schools across Australia came together to share insights, celebrate their shared charism, and deepen their commitment to Nano Nagle’s legacy. Mrs Val Thomas (President) and Ms Anna O’Brien both presented a session at the conference.
MEBS Mass
We recently celebrated the Term 2 Boarders' Mass in the Mount Erin Chapel, a special occasion where our boarding students proudly represented the College through various roles in the liturgy.
Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
On 27 June, we celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This was a very special feast for Nano and it is for Presentation People. Nano saw in Jesus the human face and heart of God’s compassion and love. She knew in her own heart God’s love for her and for the world.
With Nano’s invitation to follow her example, we pray:
Loving God of the Universe, You have shown us, in Jesus,
Your love and care for those who need our help.
May we be courageous in showing concern,
care and generous service to all people and care for the Earth. Amen
Parish 60th Birthday Celebrations
On Sunday June 29 we will celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Parish of Sacred Heart Kooringal. The day will start with 9.00am Mass followed by brunch with a presentation and speeches. Everyone is welcome to attend.
