Japanese

Year 8 have just finished creating a Vlog, which introduces Mater Dei and its subjects and teachers. Having studied the Japanese school system, students are now looking forward to meeting some Japanese high school students when they visit in Term 3.
Year 9 and 10 Elective Japanese classes have undertaken units on food this term. Year 9 focused on the basics of discussing breakfast, lunch, and dinner, expanding their communication skills with new adjectives and adverbs, as well as letter-writing techniques. Year 10 focused on the language of cooking, culminating in some great reality TV shows being written, acted in, and produced for their “What’s Cooking?” assessment. Both classes have had the opportunity to cook some Japanese dishes, with gyoza, curry rice, and yakisoba on the menu.
