Visual Arts

Year 7 Visual Arts studentshave been busy in the Studios creating, researching and developing a range of artworks. Students have finalised their study on Endangered Species, where they researched their choice of endangered species creating drawings, collages and culminating in a sculpture. Students also responded to the process of their process. Currently, students are well on the way to creating a short claymation animation.
Year 8 Visual Arts students have been exploring a range of artistic styles, beginning with a series of still life artworks where they investigated composition, the role of AI in art and then developed a layered, detailed painting. They then studied the bold, patterned style of Howard Arkley, drawing inspiration from his high-colour interpretations of suburban architecture. This week, students will commence a lino printing project, focusing on urban architecture and learning techniques in relief printing and composition.
