Excitement Mounts for the Upcoming Andrews Cup Athletics Competition

As the sun-drenched fields of the State Athletics Facility prepare to host the much-anticipated Andrews Cup Athletics Competition on Thursday 15 August, the air is charged with anticipation and enthusiasm among our Primary girls. With a record-breaking participation of 60 athletes, the event promises to be a showcase of athleticism, sportsmanship, and the spirit of healthy competition. 

 

Athletes from all associated schools have been rigorously training and honing their skills in preparation for this event at the Metro Lead Up events. From sprinting to long jumps, shot puts to relays, the competition will span a diverse range of track and field events, offering spectators a thrilling display of Primary girls’ sport. 

 

The Andrews Cup Athletics Competition is not just about winning; it’s about fostering camaraderie, healthy rivalry, and the spirit of sportsmanship. As the competition date draws closer, excitement continues to build, promising an unforgettable day. 

  

Date: Thursday 15 August

Competition Time: 9:10am - 2:30pm 

Venue: Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre, Kessels Road, Nathan 

 

Please ensure your child has the following competition uniform: 

  • CC Athletics Singlet 
  • CC Representative Shirt 
  • CC Green short/bike pants.

Talie’e Hampton Shines at School Sport Australia Netball Championships 

Talie’e Hampton (Year 10), a dedicated and talented netball player, recently showcased her skills at the School Sport Australia Netball Championships, representing Queensland. The championship, held over several days, saw fierce competition from the best young netball players across the nation. 

 

Talie’e’s performance throughout the tournament was nothing short of spectacular. Her agility, precision, and strategic play were key contributors to Queensland’s impressive journey to the finals. Alongside her teammates, Talie’e displayed teamwork and shooting accuracy, making the Queensland team one of the most formidable in the competition. 

The Queensland team played exceptionally well, progressing through the rounds with a series of strong performances. Their journey to the finals was marked by a series of thrilling matches that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. In the final game, the team faced tough opponents in the New South Wales team but fought valiantly, ultimately securing a silver medal. 

 

As Talie’e continues to develop as a netball player, her experience at the championships will undoubtedly serve as a valuable stepping stone.
