Message from the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

It is hard to believe we are halfway through the term already! Time seems to be flying by as we engage in a multitude of activities and milestones. This week, our Year 11 students have commenced their leadership speeches as part of the 2025 Captaincy Leadership process. This is an exciting time for them as they step up to demonstrate their vision, commitment, and passion for leading their peers and contributing to the school community. The speeches have been inspiring, showcasing the depth of talent and potential within our student body. We look forward to seeing how these future leaders will shape the direction of our school.

In a few weeks, our Year 12 cohort will be sitting their mock exams in preparation for the external exams in early Term 4. These mock exams are crucial as they provide our students with a valuable opportunity to practice and refine their exam techniques under real exam conditions. It also allows teachers to identify any areas where students might need additional support and provide targeted assistance to ensure they are fully prepared. We encourage our Year 12 students to stay focused, maintain a healthy study routine, and seek help if they need it. The dedication and hard work they put in now will undoubtedly pay off in their final results.

I am pleased to share that new building works near the pool are underway to install two new demountable classrooms for our classes. The installation will be completed over the next month, and we have made arrangements with the contractors to ensure the safety of our students and staff during this period. With our continued enrolment growth and the loss of the MU2 classrooms during the construction, these demountable classrooms are essential to accommodate our students. We appreciate your understanding and support during this transition period.

As I shared last week, your regular feedback is important as we continue to partner together to foster a progressive educational environment at Clayfield College. In light of this, I am writing to remind you about the MMG Parent Survey and encourage those who have not yet had the chance to complete it to do so. You will have received an email from MMG Education on Friday 2 August with an invitation to participate in the review and secure access to the survey. Thank you to those parents who have already competed the survey. Your commitment to our school community and your willingness to share your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

This parent survey is a vital tool for the Senior Leadership Team to understand your thoughts, concerns and suggestions. It provides us with a perspective of our College through your eyes and helps us identify areas where we excel, as well as opportunities for improvement. Your insights directly influence our planning and decision-making processes, ensuring that we can provide the best educational environment for your children. To encourage honest and comprehensive feedback, all responses will be de-identified. Please be assured that the survey is confidential.

As a College, we are committed to continuous improvement, and I thank you once again for your ongoing support.

Kind regards,
