From the Deputy Principal

International Women’s Day 2024

Join us to hear the inspirational story of Professor Kirsten Auret AM and her life-changing work, transforming end-of-life care for people in rural areas.  Kirsten is a palliative care doctor and Professor of Rural and Remote Medicine at UWA, who has recently been appointed to the Order of Australia for her services to palliative care and tertiary education.

Kirsten works in hospitals, nursing homes, and people’s own homes, and is involved in caring for over 1,600 rural people with serious and life-limiting illnesses.   Kirsten’s work is inspired by the Compassionate Communities movement and her research focuses on caring for people in rural communities based on models of care that work in a rural context.

Kirsten’s work focuses on teaching doctors at the bedside in the Great Southern and across the State.

We look forward to sharing a light breakfast and hearing from Kirsten. Please RSVP via the link below by Thursday 7 March.
