As Year 12s anxiously await their VCE results, this is a reminder that these will be available to students on Monday 11 December at 7am.
We will be inviting students back to the College to celebrate their achievements, as well as outlining the supports available to them during the Change of Preference period. Students applying for tertiary courses through VTAC will be able to change their preferences until Wednesday 13 December at 4pm.
Appointments with Mrs Jessie Dennison & Mr Tim Knowles will be made available on Compass over the coming weeks and students are encouraged to book and attend a session with us if assistance is needed in changing their preferences and finding a course with guaranteed entry.
Students are also welcome to contact us via Teams or email.
Each year, high-achieving Year 10 students from Victoria are invited to apply for the Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Program at the University of Melbourne. This is an exciting two-year program of events and activities that will expand their academic and personal horizons and set them up for success at the University of Melbourne, and beyond. At the conclusion of the program and their secondary studies, students may be offered a guaranteed place in an undergraduate degree and an overseas scholarship during their studies.
We were very pleased to have nine of our amazing Year 10s apply to be considered for this program for 2024 and beyond, and after a rigorous application and interview selection process, were able to nominate a small number of students to be considered by the University of Melbourne. Unfortunately though, only one student per school could be selected for this great opportunity
The Senior School team and wider Wantirna College community would like to congratulate Fiona Bui on her selection by the University of Melbourne!
Fiona will be involved with a community of like-minded high achievers over the next two years, taking part in a number of events and activities including personal development workshops and overnight adventures on campus. We wish you all the best Fiona and cannot wait to hear about all your adventures!
Students in Years 9 to 12 are reminded to regularly check the Careers and Pathways channel for their year level on Teams. Opportunities for career and course tasters, as well as casual, part time and full time job opportunities (including apprenticeships) are posted regularly. If any students wish to enquire further or need assistance with applying for programs or positions, they are invited to message or approach us in the Pathways Hub office.
