Badminton News - a student perspective
On Tuesday 20 May, our school's intermediate badminton teams showcased their talent and teamwork at the Mitcham Badminton Centre during a thrilling inter-school competition. The event brought together schools from East Doncaster, Box Hill, and Blackburn high schools, for a full day of fast-paced matches and sporting camaraderie.
Our school was proudly represented by three teams in each category—Teams A, B, and C—for boys, girls and mixed divisions. Each team was composed of six dedicated players who had been training consistently in the weeks leading up to the tournament.
Throughout the day, players demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship, agility, and communication on the court. Matches were played in a round-robin format, with each team facing off against multiple schools. The competition was intense, yet friendly, and provided a valuable experience for all students involved.
While some teams managed to secure more wins than other teams than others, every participant contributed to a memorable and enriching day. Coaches praised the students not only for their athletic performance but also for their respectful conduct and support for one another.
Special mentions go to the Girls Team C, who secured narrow victories against strong opponents from Blackburn and Box Hill, respectively. Their performance reflects the dedication and enthusiasm of the entire squad.
Congratulations to all students who represented our school with pride. We look forward to seeing continued growth and success in future badminton events.
