Wellbeing update

Wellbeing Team Term 2 2025 Update

Term 2 has again been a busy term for the Wellbeing Team. We have seen a record number of students for one-on-one social and emotional support. In these sessions, we work with students to promote their mental health, build resilience and coping skills, which lead to improved cognitive function and ability to learn.

This term, Wellbeing Wednesday, our lunch time social club has continued. We have had ‘Chill and Chat’ sessions interspersed with classes on how to make loom bands, balloon sculpting, group games and an informative visit from a vet with a therapy dog who discussed the relationship between pet ownership and wellness. Photos below!

The team ha run a ‘Resilience Workshops’ for year 9 in Live Life and Teen Mental Health First Aid Training for the year 8 cohort.

The Team has run a range Therapeutic groups include ‘PEERS’ a social skills group, ‘Study without Stress’, providing senior students with skills to manage stress related to schoolwork and ‘Peaceful Teens’, a mindfulness program to lessen anxiety and stress.

We have also had the I CAN program running for Neurodivergent students where students have worked with facilitators Ethan and Christian on a range of skills across the term!

With term 2 and semester 1 ending, remember to spend some time in the holidays resetting and doing activities to support your wellbeing. We look forward to a big term 3 after a well-deserved break!
