School Council Report

Education Committee

We are incredibly proud of our teaching staff. Their commitment to providing engaging learning experiences for our students has remained at the forefront, even as they work through the EBA process for improved pay and conditions. Please find the full details in the attached Education Report.

Grounds and Facilities

Our Rolling Facilities Evaluation (RFE) process ‘rolls on’ into Term 3. This process to audit and evaluate the physical environment of our school plays a central role in the five year forward planning of maintaining the quality of our physical assets. Mr Carroll has successfully collaborated with the Department of Education and the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) to correct initial site discrepancies. The updated Condition Assessment Report is now endorsed, and the five-year School Maintenance Plan was submitted for approval on July 28, 2026.

What has happened?

We engaged with Macutex auditors on-site back in March. The initial report they handed down missed several critical site issues. Israel Carroll spent last term advocating strongly in meetings with the VSBA. He successfully forced updates to the report to accurately reflect the reality of our site—specifically concerning our main toilets, artificial grass, and the uneven ground by the gym.

Where are we at now?

  • Our official Condition Assessment Report is now accurate and fully signed off.
  • On 28 July, we met with the Department to finalise our School Maintenance Plan.
  • This plan acts as our physical "road map" for the next five years.

What's next?

The plan has been submitted to the Department for final approval. Once greenlit, it will give us a clear, structured timeline to maintain and improve our working and learning environments. We will keep our school community updated as we navigate this lengthy process to get the right outcome for our school.

Basketball Court

Our basketball backboards have reached the end of their life and are no longer fit for purpose. We have spent approximately $8,500 on four new backboards and pole padding. These are plastic backboards and have a 10-year guarantee whereas the current backboards were particleboard. The backboards will be installed on Thursday 30th. The padding is in manufacture, and we will have that installed in the next two weeks.
