URSTRONG

As part of our Health and Wellbeing program, we are continuing to use the language and strategies from the URSTRONG program to help students build positive and healthy friendships.

URSTRONG gives children practical skills to understand friendships, manage disagreements, communicate respectfully and work through friendship challenges. Students learn to recognise what makes a friendship healthy, show empathy, set boundaries and make positive choices when interacting with others.

Through class discussions, role-play and real-life situations, students have had opportunities to practise these skills and develop confidence in managing their relationships. They have also been encouraged to understand their own feelings, consider the feelings of others and know when and how to seek help.

By building these skills, we are supporting our students to be kind, respectful, resilient and inclusive members of our school community. Most importantly, we want every child to feel safe, valued and confident in their friendships both at school and beyond.

Refer to the ABOUT URSTRONG flyer for information about the program.
