Year 2 Sleepover

On Friday 8th November 2024, Year 2 students were invited to a sleepover at school as part of the Brookside College camping program. The students engaged in a range of interactive games with their peers and staff, ate dinner together and then settled down for the night to watch a movie before bed. 

 

Well done to all students on their exceptional behaviour and a massive thank you to the staff who attended the event. 

 

Year 4 Camp

On Wednesday 13th November, our Year 4 students head off to Camp at Golden Valley Adventure Camp. We wish all our Year 4 students attending all the very best for a wonderful, fun filled week. 

 

Year 7-9 Exams - Week 9

On the week commencing 2nd December, our Year 7-9 students will undertake their English and Maths Exams. We wish all students the very best throughout the lead up and the exams, and hope that students learn from this experience and use it as an opportunity to learn for the future. 

 

Remembrance Day 

Remembrance Day is an important day during which we take the time to remember and honour people who have served for our country.  

 

On Monday the 11th November at 11am, our school community stopped to remember all of the service men and women who have served our country, the sacrifices they made, and paid our respects to the fallen.

 

Thank you to everyone who purchased a Poppy in support of the Caroline Springs RSL Sub Branch.  

 

Scholastic Book Fair Coming to Brookside Library

Our Scholastic Book Fair is nearly here! So come along to find the best new books and stationary, and help to earn free books for our library! We will have Christmas books available for purchase as well. All parents are welcome to visit during our opening hours.

Dates: Monday Friday 25th November – Friday 6th December

Hours: 8.30am – 8.45am (Before School)

11.00am -11.30am (Lunch time)

1.30pm-2.00pm (Recess)

3.00pm onwards (After-school)

 

Year 6 and Year 9 Graduations

Over the last couple of weeks, families of students in Year 6 and Year 9 have had information communicated regarding graduation. Please refer to Compass regarding the specific information.

We look forward to celebrating this important milestone with our students and their families.

 

Specialist Expo

On Thursday 24th October our school community came together to celebrate and showcase all of the incredible work and talent that shines through in the Specialists Subject Areas. It was tremendous to see so many students and their families join in this celebration. 

 

Thank you to everyone for attending, and a massive THANK YOU to everyone who worked so incredibly hard behind the scenes to put this night together. YOU ARE EXCEPTIONAL! 

 

End of Year Concert

On Monday 9th December 2024, our primary students will be participating in the Brookside End of Year Concert, so please mark this date on your calendar. Students have started talking about the event with their teachers and peers and will begin practising in the coming weeks. 

 

House Colours Celebration 

Thank you to all our students and staff who helped with getting the new ‘House’ point system off the ground in 2024. We have started to see some movement in this space, and we are looking forward to it continuing it in the new year. 

 

On Friday 29th of November we will be having Brookside’s first House Celebration Day to celebrate our winning house in 2024, Freeman! During session 5 on this day, all students from Freeman house will have the opportunity to have participate in outdoor fun, will also   receive a free hot chip lunch/snack and drink.

Prep Transition

We have welcomed our 2025 Prep students to the college to participate in Prep Transition over the last couple of Fridays. This is a very exciting time for our new students and their families, and it has been nice to see so many smiling faces both at both the beginning and end of each transition session.

 

Swimming Program

Students in Prep, Year 1, Year 3 and Year 5 have had the opportunity to participate in a swimming program this year. 

 

Students in these year levels attended the State Swim Centre in Caroline Springs, participating in 5 swimming lessons across a week with a qualified swim instructor. Thank you so much to Jodie Roach her organisation of this program.
