Literacy

Over the past two weeks in Writing, students have been planning and drafting their narrative stories titled “Mischief is the Key to My Success.” They have enthusiastically brainstormed creative ideas and explored ways to make their writing more engaging for the reader. Students have focused on “uplevelling” their writing by using compound sentences, descriptive vocabulary and onomatopoeia to create more lively and vibrant narratives. It has been wonderful to see students experimenting with different writing techniques to add detail, humour and excitement to their stories.

Year 3 Numeracy

In Mathematics, the Year 3 students have been learning about length and using formal units of measurement including millimetres (mm), centimetres (cm), metres (m) and kilometres (km). Students enjoyed exploring different ways to measure objects both inside the classroom and outdoors using rulers, metre rulers and measuring tapes. They practised estimating and comparing the lengths of various objects in their environment and developed a stronger understanding of choosing appropriate units of measurement for different tasks. It has been wonderful to see students applying their measuring skills in practical and hands-on learning experiences.

School Camp - Camp Manyung

A friendly reminder that the permission form for our Year 3/4 Camp is now available on nForma.

Please ensure you log in to nForma  to complete the digital permission and update any medical details as soon as possible. This is essential for our final planning and to ensure all students are ready for our departure on June 25th. If you are having any trouble accessing the form, please contact the office for assistance.

Inquiry Project

We have been working incredibly hard on our current Inquiry unit, 'Our Island Home.' After weeks of immersion and research, the students are now well underway with the planning and preparation of their final projects.

The students will be applying everything they have learnt this term—from geographical features to the diverse cultures of our region—to put together their project. It will be wonderful to see them transforming their new knowledge into creative pieces, and we look forward to sharing their hard work with you at the end of term showcase!
