Our Year 1 and 2 students had a fantastic time exploring The Briars last week! At the Sustainability House, they discovered how our daily choices affect the Earth and picked up some clever tips for protecting our planet. We also took a self-guided stroll around the historic homestead grounds. It was fascinating to see how different life was back then; the estate features a separate underground well, outhouse, servants' quarters, laundry, silo, and apple coolstores. To top it off, we got an up-close look at vintage farm machinery that used to be pulled by horses!

The Grade 1/2s enjoyed a wonderful visit to the library this week to celebrate National Simultaneous Storytime. The children were excited to join thousands of students across Australia in sharing the story Luna Roo. They explored the library, had a look at the 3D printer and return chutes and went on a scavenger hunt. It was a joyful way to celebrate reading together and build excitement for books, stories and community.

Last week, during our Talk time. The students had the opportunity to share a community helper of their some even dressed up. Harley (Police), Pauleen (Dentist) and Nella (Detective Senior Sergeant- just like Grandad). It has been fantastic to see the students engage so enthusiastically with how different jobs support and care for our community.

In Grade 1 Maths, we have just wrapped up our Measurement unit, where students had a wonderful time exploring and comparing length, mass, and capacity. To wrap up the topic in a fun, hands-on way, we put our skills to the test with some water investigations! The children loved filling up different jugs to visually identify and compare which containers held more, less, or the same amount.
Happy Birthday, we hope you have a wonderful day!
