Cross Country

Congratulations to all of the Grade 5/6 students who represented our school at the District Cross Country event. Competing in cross country requires determination, resilience, and a willingness to challenge yourself, and our students demonstrated all of these qualities throughout the day. We were incredibly proud of the way they supported one another, showed excellent sportsmanship, and represented our school with pride. Well done to everyone who participated in this fantastic achievement.

The Addams Family at John Paul College

Our Grade 5/6 students recently enjoyed an excursion to John Paul College to watch the dress rehearsal of The Addams Family musical production. Students were thoroughly entertained by the talented cast and crew and gained a valuable insight into the hard work, creativity, and teamwork involved in bringing a stage production to life. It was a wonderful opportunity to experience live theatre and connect with our local secondary school community. We would like to thank John Paul College for their hospitality and for sharing this fantastic performance with us.

Maths - Exploring 3D Objects & 2D Nets

After some truly exceptional growth and learning in our Fractions & Decimals topic, we've moved on to exploring 3D Objects and 2D Nets. Students are investigating the properties of three-dimensional objects, exploring how 2D nets can be folded to create 3D objects, and predicting cross sections. Through hands-on activities and problem-solving tasks, students are developing their spatial reasoning skills and gaining a deeper understanding of the geometric shapes that surround us in everyday life.

Music - Elements of Music and Composition

In Music, students have been exploring how First Nations Peoples use song and music to tell stories and pass on knowledge, culture, and history. Drawing on this understanding, students have worked collaboratively in small groups to compose their own soundscapes using percussion instruments and vocal elements. Inspired by images from nature, such as crashing waves, thunderstorms, and other natural environments, students have experimented with different sounds, rhythms, and textures to create pieces that communicate a story or mood. It has been wonderful to see their creativity, teamwork, and musical confidence continue to grow.
