Principal's Report

Saint Francis Xavier - Principal's Report
Term 2 - Week 6
Dear Parents and Friends of St Francis Xavier,
A big thank you to Ange Virgona and Ms Marion, who together facilitated our School Closure Day on May 15. The focus of the day was developing a deeper understanding of the charism of St Francis Xavier Primary School, while also revisiting and reflecting on our vision, mission, and purpose as a faith-filled learning community. It was an extremely valuable and productive day, providing staff with the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussion, strengthen shared understandings, and further build our collective commitment to the values and traditions that shape our school community.
Hero Awards
At SFX, HERO stands for Helping Everyone Respect Others.
Students are awarded HERO tokens when they demonstrate respectful behaviour towards their peers, teachers, families, and the school community.
Once a student receives 10 HERO tokens, they complete their classroom chart and exchange it for a large token, which is then added to the HERO Wall in the Red Centre.
We are now under 3 weeks away from announcing the winning house in our Semester One HERO Awards Challenge! It’s great to see so many students striving to make respectful and positive contributions to our school community—keep it up! The winning house will be the house with the most tokens at 3:15pm on Wednesday 17th June, with a special lunch and some fun activities being the prize.
John Paul College
We would like to sincerely thank John Paul College for the wonderful opportunities provided to our students this term. Our Grade 5 students thoroughly enjoyed participating in a transition day at the college, where they took part in engaging lessons in both the Home Economics room and the Science Lab. It was a fantastic experience that gave students an exciting insight into secondary school learning. We also greatly appreciated the invitation for our Grade 5/6 students to attend a performance of the 2026 musical, The Addams Family. The students had a wonderful time, and we are especially grateful to John Paul College for generously providing bus transport for the event.
John Paul College enrolment applications for current Grade 5 students who will be starting Year 7 in 2028 close on Friday August 14th. If you are considering enrolling at JPC but are yet to lodge the paperwork, please jump onto their website which will guide you through the required steps.
Subway Lunch Orders every Wednesday
Just a reminder that Subway sandwiches will continue to be available for students to order on Wednesdays. Orders must be in by: 12:00 PM, Tuesday - set the reminder on your phone so you don't forget!
