RISE Big Dreamers Program
Little Dreamers, in partnership with Glen Eira College, Bentleigh Secondary College and McKinnon Secondary College, is thrilled to welcome you to the RISE Big Dreamers Program!
Little Dreamers is a not-for-profit organisation that supports Young Carers - young people aged 25 and under who help care for a family member with a disability, mental or chronic illness, addiction, or an age-related condition. Even if your child doesn’t currently hold caring responsibilities, they are warmly welcomed. Caring roles can change over time, and the skills gained in this program will support them now and into the future.
RISE stands for Recognition, Identity, Support, and Empower. This program is all about helping Young Carers like you build confidence in who you are, connect with others who understand your experience, and feel empowered to explore new opportunities - both at school and beyond.
Delivered at your school by the team at Little Dreamers, RISE is a chance to grow your confidence, develop leadership skills, and meet other amazing Young Carers who just get it.
Running throughout June-November 2026, here's what you can expect from the program:
⭐ ️ Leadership Training Days – 2 x full-day workshops bringing together students from all participating schools to develop teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
⭐️ In-School Support – Flexible sessions (usually monthly), scheduled as often as your school chooses, designed to empower you and help you balance your caring responsibilities with your education.
⭐️ Overnight Retreat – A fun, engaging retreat where you'll connect with peers, reflect on your growth, and further develop your leadership skills in a supportive setting.
