Technology News

This term has been an exciting and innovative time for our students as they immersed themselves in the world of digital technology and robotics. Classrooms have been buzzing with creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning.
Students across different year levels have been actively engaged in designing, building, and programming robots to complete a variety of challenges. From navigating obstacle courses to performing automated tasks, students demonstrated strong teamwork and critical thinking skills. Their ability to troubleshoot and refine their designs highlighted resilience and a growth mindset.
In digital technology classes, students explored coding, data analysis, and software development. Many created their own applications and interactive programs, applying logical thinking and creativity to solve real-world problems. Collaborative projects encouraged students to share ideas, learn from one another, and build confidence in their technical abilities.
The Robotics Club is proud to have new members from Year 7 and 8. Many have completed constructing their robots and are now programming them for the first competition in July.
These experiences are not only developing technical skills but also preparing students for future careers in a rapidly evolving digital world.

Food Technology
During last term Year 8 and Year 7 students have been undertaking a wide variety of theory and practical classes in Food Technology.
The Year 8 students have been learning about the importance of a healthy diet and what teenagers consume on a daily basis. Recently, the students developed the skills to make healthy Zucchini fritters and Oriental Chicken kebabs during their practical class.
The Year 10 World Food class have been exploring the food associated with Italy and the Middle East. Students have been developing an understanding of how geography and culture factors influence the meals that are made in these countries. In practical classes they have learnt to make pasta, develop the ability to make different pasta sauces, learnt how to make lamb kebabs and cook them on a BBQ and the processes of how to make a marinade.
It has been great to see the involvement of all students in these activities.
