Year 3 & 5 NAPLAN Reflection

Over the past two weeks, our Year 3 and Year 5 students completed the NAPLAN assessments, demonstrating focus, resilience, and a positive approach to each challenge. We are incredibly proud of the way students approached the testing period with maturity and determination.
NAPLAN provides a snapshot of student learning in key areas including Reading, Writing, Language Conventions (spelling, grammar and punctuation), and Numeracy. While these assessments are just one part of a student’s overall learning journey, they offer valuable insights into progress and areas for future growth.
Throughout the assessment period, students showed excellent perseverance, carefully working through each task and applying the strategies they have been developing in class. It was particularly pleasing to see students managing their time effectively, remaining calm, and giving their best effort across all sessions.
We also acknowledge the support provided by our teachers, who worked hard to ensure students felt confident and well-prepared. Classroom routines, revision opportunities, and wellbeing check-ins all contributed to a smooth and positive experience for our students.
Now that NAPLAN has concluded, our focus returns to ongoing learning and growth in the classroom. Teachers will use a range of assessment data, including NAPLAN results when they become available later in the year, to inform teaching and support each student’s individual needs.
Congratulations to all Year 3 and Year 5 students for their efforts—you should be very proud of the way you approached this important milestone!
