Primary Classes Acknowledgement of Country

Each class in the Primary School was asked to write an Acknowledgement of Country that was meaningful to them as a class.  The aim was to generate interest and create a genuine understanding, moving beyond the passive routine of reciting a generic Acknowledgement of Country script.  This collaborative process was designed to foster a deeper understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and peoples connection to Country.  It promoted genuine respect, and encouraged students to feel personal ownership over their reconciliation actions.

Students were empowered to take responsibility for protecting our land and show appreciation for Aboriginal elders past and present.   Each class's Acknowledgement of Country is personal, thoughtful and authentic.  It is used at the commencement of the day as part of our morning routine.
