Junior School Book Week Key Dates

This year’s Book Week theme is “Symphony of Stories”. A number of events will take place across the College to celebrate. These are the key dates for the Junior School: 

 

Friday 21st August  

Book Week Street Parade at the beginning of the school day 

 

Monday 24th August 

Year 4 Guest Author – Robert Favretto 

Robert Favretto is an author and teacher. His books are full of whimsy, humour and clever wordplay to engage young minds. His books include Boris Goes Berserk, Morphing Murphy, Home of the Cuckoo Clock and Crash Landing: Otto’s Alien Adventure

 

Tuesday 25th August 

Year 1 and 2 Guest Author – Emma Bowd 

Emma Bowd is an award-winning and internationally published author of books for children and adults. Her picture books for children include Children’s Book Council of Australia notable book Wonderful Shoes, This is My Happy Place, The Christmas Tree Catastrophe, The Day You Were Born and her latest book Time to Go to the Park

 

Wednesday 26th August 

Year 3 Guest Illustrator – Dub Leffler 

Dub Leffler is an indigenous illustrator of over twenty-three books, including Sorry Day, Once There Was a Boy, Rocky and Louie and the CBCA award-winning chapter book Black Cockatoo

 

Thursday 27th August 

Prep Guest Author – Anna McGregor 

Anna McGregor is an award-winning author, illustrator and designer of picture books that blend humour, heart and a touch of the unexpected. Her titles include Spiro, Who’s Afraid of the Light, Anemone is not the Enemy and A Pair of Pears and an Orange

 

Each lunchtime during Book Week, the Year 9 students will facilitate reading and craft sessions with the Junior School students. The Year 9 students will have a variety of Book Week competitions to enter.
