2007 Musical – South Pacific

Auditions have been held for the 2026 Mazenod Avila Theatre Company (MATCO) production, and preparations are in full swing for the presentation of Disney’s Beauty and the Beastto the Mazenod community early in Term 3.

For many students, the school musical is their introduction to a career in the arts, not only on stage but also in the wide range of supporting roles. It takes a large, talented team to bring this entertaining spectacle to life each year. Some say, ‘Never again!’ only to return the following year for the anxiety, drama, and sheer hard work all over again. It’s infectious.

Today we reflect on the some of the individuals behind the 2007 production, South Pacific. Director: Ken Nailon, Musical Director: Jason Mears, Assistant Musical Director: Doug Leutchford, Pianist: Adrian de Fanti, Prompt: Ms Tina Giacco, Costumes: Mrs Kay Williamson and Mrs Lynne Dickenson. Do any of those names sound familiar?

Among the student Principals were: Dominic Berne (Emile), Joshua Harris (Billis), Daniel Woodhouse (Cable), Ryan Moroney (Stewpot), Bernard Guevara (Brackett), Oscar Alvarenga (Harbison), Matthew Ellul (Professor).
