Rector's Report

Greetings! A highlight of 2026 so far was the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Papal Approbation of our Oblate Constitution and Rules on February 17, 1826, during our Inaugural Mass. This year we were pleased to welcome to our celebration the Asia- Oceania Regional Council members representing China/Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Colombo, Jaffna, Pakistan, Korea, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Japan, Thailand/Laos, Turkmenistan, and Vietnam due to their annual meeting of Provincials and Superiors of the region being hosted by our Australian Provincial, Fr Andrew Chen OMI and the Australian Oblate Provence.

Sadly, during the same week we celebrated to the life of our Year 11 student Chris Rua Antony with a college Eucharist on Monday evening February 23 in the Provence Centre. The Requiem Mass for Chris was celebrated in his home parish community of Our Lady Help of Christians, Narre Warren with an overflowing congregation of family, friends, Mazenod community and parishioners in prayerful attendance.

Catholic Education Week

This year, Catholic Education Week is being celebrated across the Archdiocese of Melbourne from Sunday 15 March to Sunday 22 March. The week is an opportunity for our college to join all 334 Catholic schools in the archdiocese to celebrate our distinctive Catholic identity, our achievements, and the role our college plays within our local parishes and communities. Mazenod College seeks to provide our students with a high-quality Catholic Education that is inspired by the gospel of Jesus Christ and lived through the charism of St Eugene de Mazenod. It is our aim to foster the development of the whole person, forming our young men with more than just skills, but with the virtues of the Christian life that will enable them to make a difference in and to our wider community.

Let us pray

Lord God, bless our Catholic college community.

As we walk in the footsteps of Saint Patrick,

let Christ be beside us, strengthening our faith and guiding our actions.

May we bring hope, love, and light to one another,

growing in wisdom, compassion, and community.

Help us to share your light, inspire others, and live as you taught us.

St Eugene de Mazenod

Pray for us.

When the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate first came to Mindanao in 1939, they were confronted with the predicament on how to reach out to the people to spread the word of God. After much consideration, the Oblates decided that the best way to reach as many people as possible was through the establishment of schools. In July 1941, the Notre Dame Academy in Midsayap opened its doors.
