GILES HOUSE UPDATE
What a wonderful way to finish 2025 for Giles House! This year has seen our sense of pride, identity and connection grow stronger than ever, highlighted by the introduction of our new Giles House shield. The shield has quickly become a symbol of who we are—spirited, united and always striving for our best. It has been fantastic to see students wearing it proudly and embracing what it represents.
As the year draws to a close, we offer our heartfelt thanks to our outgoing House Leaders. Their energy, dedication and unwavering commitment to the wellbeing and success of Giles students has shaped a positive and inclusive house culture throughout 2025. We are deeply grateful for everything they have contributed.
Looking ahead, we are delighted to welcome our 2026 House Captains, Stella Kain and Angus Screen. Both bring enthusiasm, maturity and a genuine passion for Giles House. Alongside them is an exciting team of newly appointed College Leaders who have already begun sharing fresh ideas and demonstrating strong leadership as we prepare for the year ahead. Their early momentum promises a dynamic and engaging 2026 for all Giles students.
A special mention must also go to our Giles Buddy Leaders, a terrific group of Year 10 students who represented the House beautifully at the recent Orientation Day. Their warmth, responsibility and encouragement helped incoming students feel welcomed and supported—a true reflection of the spirit we value in Giles.
With gratitude for a great 2025 and excitement for the year to come, Giles House continues to grow, connect and shine.
On Wednesday 3 December, Giles House was awarded the overall College House Cup! Recognising consistent effort, spirit and contribution across a wide range of areas including carnivals, fundraising, volunteering and student-led initiatives!
Go Giles!
Mr Tim Small
