Host Families

Host Families
Seeking Host Families 19 - 27 June
We are excited to welcome 18 students from our sister school; Shanghai Foreign Language School.
We would like to thank everyone who has already expressed interest and offered their support. We are still looking for a couple more host families to accommodate visiting students from China during their stay. Even if your child is not travelling overseas, hosting is a wonderful opportunity to make international friendships and gain insight into a different culture.
During the exchange week, we have planned a range of exciting activities including a Melbourne city tour, a visit to Werribee Zoo, and a day at Sovereign Hill. Host students are welcome to join these activities with their Chinese buddy, or choose to stay in their regular classes if they are concerned about missing curriculum content.
As a reminder, selection for the China Trip will be based on the following criteria:
- Priority will be given to students who can host a visiting student from Shanghai
- Preference will be given to Year 11–12 students, as younger students may have future opportunities
- We also encourage Year 9–10 students interested in taking Chinese for VCE/IB to apply, as this program supports language development and intercultural understanding
Please email expressions of interest to Mr Chufeng Liu at chufeng.liu@education.vic.gov.au
There will be a parent information session Tuesday Week 2 Term 2 (29th April)
