Student Safety and Courtesy to Other Road Users

Ensuring the safety of our students and maintaining a smooth traffic flow within the school and neighbouring carparks is of utmost importance at Suzanne Cory. We kindly remind all parents and students to be vigilant and considerate when navigating the carparks and surrounding roads.

Parking and Traffic Regulations:

  • Parents must not park in the non-standing zones within the Victoria University Carparks or block access to their entrance driveway. These areas must remain clear at all times to allow for safe and efficient traffic movement and access for VU Staff and students.
  • The loop at the front of the school is designated as a pick-up zone only. Parents are kindly requested not to park and wait for their children in this area to prevent congestion.
  • Double parking is strictly prohibited to ensure smooth access for all parents and visitors.
  • When exiting the school, parents must not turn right onto Hoppers Lane. This restriction is in place to prevent unnecessary congestion and ensure the safety of all road users.

Pedestrian Safety:

  • Students are reminded to take extra care when walking through the carpark and crossing roads.
  • The use of headphones or earbuds while walking through the carpark is strongly discouraged, as it can reduce awareness of moving vehicles and other hazards.
  • Pedestrian inattentiveness can lead to accidents and injury; therefore, it is essential for both students and parents to remain alert and mindful of their surroundings.

We appreciate your cooperation in fostering a safe and courteous environment for our school community and neighbours. Thank you for your continued support in keeping our students safe.
