PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
MRS MICHELLE HAEUSLER - PRINCIPAL

Last week, our school community gathered to celebrate our End of Year Mass and farewell our Year 12 students as they completed their final day of school. It was a wonderful occasion, attended by many parents, guardians, family members and friends, and provided an opportunity to reflect on the achievements, growth and contributions of the Class of 2026.
Many of our Year 12 students now turn their attention to their final examinations, we keep them in our thoughts and prayers. We wish them every success and thank them for the positive impact they have had on our school community throughout their time with us.
While celebrating the achievements of our graduating students, we have also been looking ahead to the future of our College. Recently, we heard speeches from students applying for the 2027 School Captain positions and conducted interviews as part of the selection process. The quality of applicants was exceptional, reflecting the depth of student leadership within our school.
I am pleased to announce our 2027 School Captains:

Congratulations to these students on their appointment. I look forward to working alongside them as they lead our student community in 2027.
As part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening leadership structures and supporting school improvement, several organisational changes will take effect from 2027. One of the most significant changes will be the transition from two Deputy Principal positions, Community and Culture and Teaching and Learning, to a single Deputy Principal role.
I am delighted to announce that Mr Nathan Lane has been appointed Deputy Principal and will commence in this position in 2027. As part of this restructuring, we have also introduced a new Director of Teaching and Learning position. This role is currently being advertised, and details of the successful applicant will be shared in a future newsletter.
We will also see changes to our House Leadership team in 2027. Congratulations to the following staff members who have been appointed as House Leaders:
Solomon House – Mrs Rianne Quaife
Tenison House – Ms Jennifer Salvo
Woods House – Mrs Jaclyn Clark
Xavier House – Mrs Nicole Venter

I would like to sincerely thank Mr Joel Murphy, Mr Jesse McDonald, Mr Luke Crow, Mrs Nella Sharp and Mr Jeremy Wood for their outstanding service in these roles. House Leaders play an integral role in the life of our school. Their work allows them to share in the many successes, achievements and celebrations of our students, while also providing guidance and support through some of the more challenging periods of students' lives. Their dedication and care have made a significant contribution to our school community.
I am also pleased to announce an important appointment to our Teaching and Learning team. In 2027, we will welcome Ms Rebecca Martin to the role of Teaching and Learning Leader: Learning Diversity.
Ms Martin brings more than 20 years of educational experience, most recently at Eaglehawk Secondary College. Her expertise and commitment to supporting diverse learning needs will be a valuable addition to our College, and we look forward to welcoming her to our community.
With Ms Martin's appointment, I would like to acknowledge and thank Mrs Sally Op't Hoog for the enormous contribution she has made to Learning Diversity at our school. Over the past five years, our College has experienced significant growth, and Mrs Op't Hoog has worked tirelessly to ensure that students requiring additional learning support receive the assistance and opportunities they need to flourish. She has been a passionate advocate for enhanced support programs, increased Learning Support Officer staffing, and differentiated and modified learning programs to meet the needs of individual students.
While Mrs Op't Hoog is stepping away from this leadership role, she is certainly not leaving our school. We are excited that her energy, expertise and passion will continue to benefit students through her work in the classroom.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our College throughout the year. I wish those that are fortunate enough, an enjoyable long weekend.
