IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR YEAR 11 STUDENTS

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We wish to share some important information with you regarding upcoming events for Year 11 students.

Year 11 students completing a Unit 3/4 (Year 12) VCE exam

Students completing a Unit 3/4 (Year 12) are allowed to stay at home before the exam and leave school at the end of the exam.

The VET Sport and Recreation exam is scheduled for Friday 13 November from 11.45am to 1.30pm. Students completing this exam are allowed to stay at home before the exam and leave school at the end of the exam.

Semester 2 Year 11 Exams

These will be held in the Jubilee Centre (JC) from Tuesday 17 to Friday 20 November. Students will receive their exam schedule shortly.

Attendance at the exams is compulsory. Exams will only be rescheduled if there is a clash in the timetable or if a student provides a medical certificate.

Current Year 11 students are not required at school on Monday 16 November. They can use this day to study at home.

Students are not required to be at school during the exam period unless they have an exam. If students plan to study at school, they must do this in the LRC. This will be a quiet study area, and students are expected to follow normal school rules. Please note, if students are studying in the LRC, they must sign in at the LRC desk.

Year 12 2027 Senior Student Transition Interviews

These interviews involving parents, students and staff from the St Mary MacKillop College Pathways Team will be held from Monday 16 to Friday 20 November.

These interviews are considered an important step into Year 12 and aim to provide another opportunity to discuss subjects, career pathways and how we can best work together to support each student in their learning. This is also Year 11 exam week, so appointments need to be planned around times students do not have a scheduled exam. Further information on interview times and how to make a booking through PAM will be shared over the coming weeks.

Year 12 2027 Orientation Week

The Year 12 2027 orientation program will start on Tuesday 24 November and conclude on Friday 27 November. Current Year 11 students are not required at school on Monday 23 November.

The orientation program provides an opportunity for students to familiarise themselves with the subjects they are studying in 2027, to start their learning for next year, and to set up for success in their academic studies before the start of next year. Students will also receive homework they are expected to complete over the holidays.

Attendance at all orientation week classes is compulsory. The end date for Year 11 students will be Friday 27 November. Students are expected to be at school until this date. We ask for your support in this matter.

End of year arrangements for Year 11 VCE VM / VPC students

The end date for students completing the Year 11 VCE VM / VPC program will be Friday 13 November, provided they have completed and submitted all their required work for semester 2.

As students in the Year 11 VCE VM / VPC are continuing their program next year in Year 12, there will be no orientation day for these students in November.

Please let me know if you have any questions. We wish your child success as they finish their Year 11 studies and prepare to enter Year 12.

Yours sincerely,

Nathan Lane
