What’s happening at Ranges TEC?
Orientation and Settling Into 2026
It has been wonderful to start the year by welcoming many new faces to Ranges TEC. Our Year 10 students have made a fantastic start, participating in orientation activities and getting underway in the workshops.
Coming up soon is the Year 10 Hiking Camp. The cohort has been preparing by taking part in practice hikes, in Kalorama and Mount Lofty. They saw a beautiful sunrise along the way – be sure to check out the photos!
Open Evening: March 19th
Ranges TEC’s Open Evening will be held on Thursday, March 19th. We warmly invite you to join us for a personalised tour of our facilities, guided by the Director or a member of our leadership team.
Ranges TEC offers seven Certificate II VET courses, which can be completed as part of the VCE or VCE-VM:
- Building and Construction
- Cookery
- Early Childhood Education and Care
- Electrotechnology
- Engineering
- Furniture Making
- Horticulture

Ranges TEC, Lilydale, is a campus of MECS, who specialises in hands-on learning primarily for students who are looking to pursue a trade pathway or to achieve the VCE Vocational Major. Students including VET as part of their MECS program, generally attend Ranges TEC for one afternoon a week whilst doing the rest of their subjects at MECS.
