Prep

In Music, the Prep students have been demonstrating how to make high and low, fast and slow, and loud and soft sounds, using their voices and musical instruments. In Visual Arts, students have been learning how primary colours can make secondary colours, and creating art using those secondary colours, such as orange octopuses, green dinosaurs and purple monsters.

1/2

In Music, the 1/2 students haven been demonstrating how they can create rhythms using different musical notes, such as notes that are long and some that are short. They have also learnt to create ostinato by repeating musical phrases. In Visual Arts, the students have continued to emulate the work of famous artists, such as Salvidor Dali and Andy Warhol.

3/4

In Music, the 3/4 students have been examining differernt types of feels and genres of music, such as 'hoedown' and 'boogie-woogie.' They have studied the features of these genres and created their own music that includes these features. In Drama, the students have continued to reflect on the differences between improvising a performance and rehearsing a performance.

5/6

In Music, the 5/6 students have continued to be exposed to music from around the world, such as music from the Pacific Islands and Latin America. They have sung and played along with songs from these regions, as well as compose their own music that has the same features. In Drama, students have continued to rehearse scenes from the 5/6 production, making sure to project their voice and demonstrate their character through voice and movement.
