 Andrew Chinn Concert

Last week, we were blessed with an incredible day of singing and movement workshops with the one and only Andrew Chinn. Each class spent time learning his beautiful songs of joy and praise, and the day culminated in a wonderful whole school concert. I was so very proud to see the fabulous Grade 5/6L humans really let loose and enjoy themselves.

Adam Wallace Visit

That's right everyone, this fortnight at SFX we've had not one, but TWO celebrities visit our small but mighty school. Prolific author Adam Wallace came and spoke to students about his experience as an author and illustrated, celebrating the release of his new musical book (yes, you read that right) Hatman. It was so much fun hearing about his writing process, and even trying our hands at a little bit of illustration. Signed copies of Adam's books are still available to purchase until next Wednesday.

Important Dates

We have so many incredible things to look forward to in the Grade 5/6 space this term that I thought I would add them here each fortnight to help you keep track!

Week 4

• Monday 27th October - This is our back-up day for the Lightning Premiership at JPC, which was cancelled this week due to poor weather conditions. Fingers crossed for better weather on Monday!
• Tuesday 28th October - Students will be participating in a dance clinic during our STOMP! dance incursion. Pants or shorts are recommended.
• Thursday 30th October - Our Confirmation candidates will be participating in a very special reflection day ahead of their Sacrament. 

Week 5

• Monday 3rd November - School closure day.
• Tuesday 4th November - Melbourne Cup public holiday (enjoy the long weekend everyone!).
• Friday 7th November - Senior school water safety day. The permission form for this event (which will be at the local PARC swimming pool) is available now on Operoo.
• Sunday 9th November - Confirmation.
