Saint Francis Xavier - Principal's Report

Term 4 - Week 3

Dear Parents and Friends of St Francis Xavier,

Yesterday marked a very special milestone as we welcomed our 2026 Prep students for their first Orientation session! It’s always such an exciting time of year as schools begin to open their doors to new students and families, helping them start their journey into our school community. Over the next three Thursdays, our future Preps will continue to visit, getting to know their teachers, new friends, and the wonderful learning environment that awaits them next year.

School Uniform/Hats

We’re excited to share that our new reversible bucket hats are now available. These hats not only look fantastic but are also perfect for showing off our house colours with pride. Students are already loving the fresh look and practical design — a great combination of style and sun safety.

School Disco Volunteers

Our School Disco is fast approaching — scheduled for Thursday 27th November — and we are in urgent need of parent volunteers to help make the event possible! At the moment, we have only had one volunteer, and unfortunately, the disco can’t go ahead without more parents offering their assistance. Volunteers will need a current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and will be required to help with set up before the event, as well as supervision during the junior and senior discos. If you are able to help with any part of the evening, please contact Miss Erin at erin.w@sfxfrankston.catholic.edu.au.

As a fun lead-up, Stomp Dance will be visiting next Tuesday 28th October to run a special ‘practice disco’ during school hours. Students may wear their sports uniform on this day.

Assemblies this Term

There will be three assemblies in Term 4.

  • Tuesday 28th October @ 2:30pm- Prep class will present their learning
  • Tuesday 25th November @ 2:30pm- Grade 3/4's will present their learning
  • Monday 8th December @ 2:15pm- Final Assembly and Awards

World Teachers Day - Friday 31st October

I would like to alert all parents and carers that next Friday is World Teacher's Day. On this day, teachers are acknowledged and celebrated across the world.

We are so fortunate to have the most amazing team of teaching staff at S.F.X, who all work so diligently to ensure that all students are encouraged, supported, and experience success. If you would like to acknowledge your child's teacher, please feel free to send them an email or a card.

Grade 3-6 Water Safety Day at PARC

On Friday 7th November, the Grade 3-6 students will be walking to PARC for their annual Water Safety/Water Fun day. Nearly all families have given permission for your child to attend, however PARC are still waiting for the online swimming ability forms of many students to be completed. If you are yet to do so, please use the link below and make sure the form is completed by next week.

Upcoming School Closure Day

Just a reminder that Monday 3rd November is a school closure day at S.F.X. The following day, Tuesday 4th November, is the Melbourne Cup Public Holiday. Students will return to school on the Wednesday.

Have a great weekend everyone!
