Library & Resource Centre Report

Greetings one and all.
I would like to begin this piece with some pictures of our latest display. The Library’s “Creative Director”, Mrs Holly Herrmann, has once excelled with her ideas and inspiration. We purchased a beautiful series of large non-fiction books entitled “Welcome to the Museum”. An idea was hatched. The result of Mrs Herrmann’s efforts you can see below.
Our new Pterodactyl, hanging in the library entrance, fits the theme very nicely. Thankyou Mrs Herrmann
This week we took possession of a new bespoke book shelf, made especially for the Library by four Year 11 students under the guidance of their Product Design and Technology Unit 2 Teacher, Mr Tony Flavel.
The Students responsible for our new addition are, Luke Hannig, Mitch Riley, Jakob Shrive and Will McDonnell.
We could not be happier with the result, thank you very much. The shelf has been admired already by numerous staff and students.
Uniting Church Luncheon
On Tuesday August 20, Mr Nathan Ough, along with our Boarder’s Kitchen staff, Michelle and Kylie, supervised four Year 9 students in preparing and serving an excellent meal to the weekly clients at the Uniting Church here Hamilton. We are grateful to you all, as, by all accounts, were the folk at the Church on the day.
Beautiful homemade Lasagne, Hasselback potatoes, fresh peas….followed by delicious cupcakes with lashings of butter cream icing and sprinkles. Mrs Coate from the Church let me know how popular the cupcakes were.
This is such an enlightening and worthwhile activity for our students, we never have any trouble in finding willing and enthusiastic students to take part.
Thank you all for putting this year’s theme into action - “Be a part of the MSC Heart”.
Stay brave and kind everyone.
