Students investigated simple constellations before exploring Earth from space. They identified land, oceans and clouds on our planet and created colourful mixed-media Earth artworks that celebrated our unique place in the Solar System. Their observations helped develop both scientific understanding and artistic confidence.

Years 1 & 2

Students explored Indigenous seasonal calendars and discovered how First Nations Peoples observe changes in nature and the sky throughout the year. They then began their major science investigation by recording patterns in the sky and collaborated to create a spectacular class night-sky mural for display.

Years 3 & 4

Students tested and evaluated their engineering prototypes, collecting evidence to improve the strength, sustainability and functionality of their designs. Using peer feedback and scientific observations, each team refined its model in preparation for the final engineering showcase, demonstrating resilience and creative problem-solving.

Years 5 & 6

Students designed innovative space missions and considered the challenges humans face when living beyond Earth. Working collaboratively, they planned sustainable solutions using their knowledge of Earth systems, engineering and space science.
