Production
What an incredible adventure our Alice in Wonderland Production has been!
Over the past few months, our students and wider school community have followed us into Wonderland, creating memories, building confidence and discovering what can be achieved when we work together.
A huge thank you to our Performing Arts Teacher and Lead Director, Ashleigh Smith, for her vision, creativity and incredible commitment to bringing the Production to life.
Thank you to all of our staff and parent helpers for the many hours of support behind the scenes. A special acknowledgement goes to Doug Amey, Rebecca Amey, Kate Amey, Jason Ochotnicki, Tegan Martin, Helen McDonald, Ros Lawrence and Belinda Freeman who have made an outstanding contribution to this performance. The real magic of our Production was the way our community came together. Thank you to everyone who joined us on this wonderful journey.
Our biggest congratulations go to our amazing students. They showed confidence, creativity, resilience and courage, and reminded us that sometimes the impossible isn't quite so impossible after all!
Parent Opinion Survey
A friendly reminder to families that our Parent Opinion Survey is still open, but will be closing on Friday, 18th September. We greatly value the feedback and perspectives of our parent community. Your responses provide us with important insights into what we are doing well and where we can continue to improve.
If you have not yet had the opportunity to complete the survey, we encourage you to take a few minutes to share your thoughts.
Thank you to everyone who has already taken the time to provide feedback. Your voice matters and helps us continue to strengthen our school community.
2027 School Enrolments
Planning for 2027 is already underway, and we are looking forward to welcoming new students and families to our school community.
Families who have received an offer of enrolment for 2027 are encouraged to confirm their place as soon as possible. Early confirmation helps us with our planning and allows us to prepare for the year ahead.
If you know a family who is considering Yarra Road Primary School for 2027, we would love to hear from them. If you are considering Yarra Road Primary School for your child, please get in touch with us, we would be delighted to show you around!
Father’s Day
Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful dads, grandfathers, carers and special people in our students’ lives! We hope you had a wonderful day celebrating with your families.
Our students had a fantastic time at this year’s Father’s Day Stall, choosing a special gift for someone important to them. A huge thank you to our wonderful Parents' Association for organising and running the stall. These events take a great deal of planning, preparation and time, and we are so grateful for the effort that goes into creating these special experiences for our students.
We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the parent and community volunteers who generously gave their time to help set up, run the stall and pack everything away. Your support makes such a difference to our students.
Volunteering
If you are considering volunteering at Yarra Road Primary School, we kindly ask that you complete the online training each year and also present your Working With Children’s Check to the office. If you would like further information, please contact the office.

If you have a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) recorded with Yarra Road Primary School, or you intend to volunteer at our school or participate in activities involving Yarra Road Primary School students during school hours, we kindly ask that you ensure Yarra Road Primary School is listed as an organisation on your WWCC.
The Victorian Department of Education advises that volunteers should name the school where they intend to undertake child-related work on their WWCC. A WWCC can be used across multiple organisations, so you do not need to apply for a new Check.
If you need to add Yarra Road Primary School to your WWCC, you can update your organisation details online through Service Victoria: https://www.service.vic.gov.au/services/working-with-children-check-update-details/home
Please ensure this is completed if you wish to participate or volunteer on school grounds or with Yarra Road Primary School students during school hours.
Thank you for helping us ensure our volunteer records and WWCC information are kept up to date.
