Year 3 & 4

Congratulations to all of our students who rehearsed, danced and sang their way through this year's Production of 'Alice in Wonderland'! Our students were very proud and excited as they took to the stage to perform ‘How Do You Do and Shake Hands’ and ‘Very Good Advice’. Students were given the opportunity to have their faces painted with glow in the dark glitter, which looked amazing as we had special lights that made our costumes glow.

Here are what some of our students thought about the Production... 

As my mum and dad dropped me off to Yarra Valley Grammar, I was as shivering as a snake. But I was doing cartwirls and I swirled like a dancer.

We went on for our first song, I Give Myself Very Good Advice and I could see the crowd which made me really excited. Our costumes also glowed in the dark! When we left the stage I was so relieved I didn't drop my hoop on the floor. Then we went on again about 15 minutes later for How Do You Do and Shake Hands. It felt so funny and goofy going around in circles! I loved the handshake Lily, Georgie and I did. Then we ran back to our room in our funny and itchy costumes.

After ‘How do you do and shake hands’ we had a bit of a break and I was watching my brother go on stage. He was really funny. Even through the tv every one said he was still the  loudest. At the end it was really fun but also nerve racking. I had lots of fun.

Not long after our first song we had to get ready for our second song, how d'ye do and shake hands. I was confident about that song but when I ran on I got a bit nervous. That was probably my favorite song. William and I did a really good hand shake that we made up from scratch. I also knew the lyrics very well so I enjoyed it.

I arrived at Yarra Valley Grammar and put on my costume. We played fun games and cool colourings while waiting for our turn to perform. We  walked around the building to get backstage to get ready to perform very good advice. We used hoola hoops. We all made small mistakes but other than that we did good. We headed back to our room and continued colouring. Then we went back to do ‘How do you do and Shake Hands. We did the finale, l felt good.

Henry E of Year 3 and Amelia W of Year 4 will each receive a certificate at assembly for adding many of the books they have read to the Reading Challenge website.

Celebrating our Students

Students are nominated by their teachers to receive a certificate of acknowledgment. The below students' certificates will be presented at our next assembly.
