Foundation

This term, our Foundation students have had lots of fun exploring the basics of colour and line. They experimented with different types of lines to show movement and shape, and enjoyed learning about warm and cool colours. It’s been wonderful to see their confidence and creativity grow each week.

Years 1/2

Students in Years 1/2 discovered the colourful and imaginative world of Hundertwasser. They created vibrant watercolour artworks using flowing contour lines, overlapping, and unique shapes inspired by his style. The results are full of personality and creativity!

Years 3/4

In 3/4 students explored Australia’s amazing wildlife by creating mixed media artworks of native birds. Using oil pastel techniques, they built up layers of colour and texture to bring their birds to life. Their finished pieces are bright, bold, and full of character.

Years 5/6

Students in Years 5/6 dived into the world of Pop Art and had a fantastic time creating eye-catching self-portraits. Using acetate, acrylic paint, and their knowledge of colour theory, they experimented with layering and contrast to create striking effects.

Specialist Captains in art

This Term our Specialist Captains - Moli, Juliet, Manisa and Bridgette have set an extremely high standard for the newly formed Captain role. Each week they have selected and delivered highly engaging art club sessions, with students across the school excitedly attending during lunchtime. The Specialist captains have also been working on some very special designs for an upcoming mural, stay tuned to see what we have in store!
