This week's notes

Year 5 & 6 Excursion to Balmoral K-12 Community College

Many thanks to Balmoral K-12 Community College for hosting our Year 5-6 grade on Monday.

As it was Science Week, we spent time learning about bees, propagating plants and cooking honeycomb. I received many compliments on the manners and conduct of our students. They made me feel proud to be their teacher and principal.

Personal Belongings at school

Unfortunately, over the past few weeks we have had a small number of student and teacher personal items go missing. Some have been located, others have not.

I would just like to remind our community that there is a risk when bringing personal items to school – that they can be damaged or go missing. The best advice I can give to you all is, if you don’t need it to access your learning, don’t bring it! And if you do choose to bring it, make sure your name is on it so we can return it to the correct owner.

We have reminded the students about the value of integrity – doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. Honesty is always the best policy!

Parents Club

Parents Club will be holding a general meeting on Friday 30th August at the Bunyip Hotel at 3:45pm.  Everyone is encouraged to attend if possible.

A Father's Day stall has also been organised and will be held on Monday 26th August. Students are allowed to bring in up to $10 to purchase gifts.  A reminder will be sent out in the newsletter prior to this.

School Council

Next Wednesday 21st August is our School Council general meeting.  7pm at school.  The Agenda has been emailed out today.

Tuesday 20th August altered Timetable

Next Tuesday we will be running an altered timetable. We will be running our Music and Wellbeing programs on this day, as well as hosting a very special visitor.

Author and Illustrator Emma Stuart will be coming to hold workshops with all students. Emma is based in Dunkeld. We look forward to welcoming her to our beautiful school.

Dress Up Day - Book Week

Hopefully all students are starting to get their costumes ready for next Thursday's book character dress up day as part of Book Week.  Parents are also welcome to dress up if they like😉. And our Cavendish Kinder students will be joining us from 9:15am!

Have a great weekend.

Warmest regards,

Kate Steele
