Parent / Teacher interviews
This term parent/teacher interviews were held with two fellas MITS Pathways Schools.
Parent / Teacher interviews provide a great opportunity to meet teachers and understand your student’s strengths and challenges they may be having in class. It’s also a great time to ask any questions about how they might be progressing in class, what their friend group is like, are they quiet or noisy in class, and is there anything that can be done at home or in boarding to further support their learning. Teachers will also give information about the support at school during lunchtime or after school study sessions. It’s important that each student can make a connection with their teacher and the subject they are studying, and that you as a parent or guardian feel that you are part of the school.
Year 8 homework with Rei
Every Monday and Wednesday the boys walk through the door’s after school and often they ask me ‘Is there homework tonight’? With a big smile I say ‘Yes’
Attendance at homework has been steady and the boys have a portfolio of work that they will present to their teachers in Week 9.
We have great support from our wonderful volunteers and The A Team tutors, and it has been a privilege to listen to the boys discuss concepts, possibilities, probabilities, discuss persuasive texts and discover the knowledge they already possess.
Presentation has been a focus for the second half of Term 1 and the young men have done well!
