It is wonderful to see the children back at kindergarten for term 2! They have all settled back into the routines and rhythms of kindergarten so quickly! Over the past few weeks, there has been some fantastic engineering in the trickle stream, focused play and experiments with colour mixing at the water table, and some great collective problem solving on how to free a rock that was stuck in the grate at the far end of the stream. As always, the swings, monkey bars and climbing equipment are in constant use, which is so great for children’s gross motor, vestibular and proprioceptive development. We love to see how confidently the children challenge themselves on this equipment. Indoors, the play dough has been very popular. We love using loose parts with play dough tools to extend creative possibilities. Play dough really does inspire so much creativity and children’s creations look like little works of art sometimes! It has also been wonderful to see the children engaging in some great conversation and pretend play together now that they have formed friendships and made positive connections with one another.
