Junior School Athletics Carnival

Earlier this term, all students from Years 2 to 6 in the Junior School ran, jumped and threw themselves into a great and exciting day at the Junior School Interhouse Carnival. Bowden Park served as the venue for this fun and exciting event. Starting with the 800m, a number of students set themselves up for a great day by running impressive times. Our rotational activities gave us the chance to measure up against the competition as the day progressed. A short break led us into the 100m races, before we completed our final rotations ahead of the main event, the Junior School Gift Race. It was a hotly contested race, with Charlize Gri crossing the line first and leaving the competition chasing her! We would like to congratulate Ashburn House for taking out the Overall Junior School Interhouse Athletics Carnival.

Andrews Cup Athletics Carnival

The Andrews Cup Athletics Carnival took place at QSAC, Nathan, and a large contingent of Clayfield girls were all striving to beat their personal bests and bring another trophy home to Clayfield.

Some notable results throughout the day:

Winnie Woodcroft: 1st in 800m and 3rd in Long Jump
Charlize Gri: 1st in 200m and 2nd in 100m
Keisha Timbi: 3rd in Discus and 3rd in Shot Put
Elsie Slaughter: 3rd in 800m
Harper Horwood: 3rd in Long Jump
Scarlett McDonnell: 3rd in 100m
Harper Glasson: 3rd in High Jump
Bridget Coates: 3rd in High Jump
Matilda Essig: 2nd in 200m
Eva Hancock: 1st in High Jump

In the final event of the day, our relay team of Charlize Gri, Harper Horwood, Scarlett McDonnell and Ava Spizzirri finished an incredible 4th in the Sue Pavish Cup Relay race. At the conclusion of the day, Clayfield College was awarded the Percentage Cup, going back-to-back!
