A Special Visit from Sr Riffat - Sharing the Spirit of Nano Nagle

This week, we were privileged to welcome Sr Riffat, who has recently completed a five-year term as Provincial for Pakistan. Her wealth of experience, deep commitment to service, and lived example of the Presentation charism offered our students an inspiring connection to the global mission of Kildare Ministries.

Sr Riffat met with students in the Nagle Building, a space that carries the name and spirit of Nano Nagle, whose vision and courage continue to shape the ministries we live out today. She spoke warmly about her work, her service in Pakistan, and the ways the Presentation charism calls us to respond with compassion, justice and hope.

Students were reminded of how richly blessed we are here in Echuca surrounded by a supportive community, in a peaceful environment, with opportunities for learning and growth that are not available everywhere. Sr Riffat’s visit encouraged us to see these blessings as a call to action, to use our gifts for the good of others and to live out our values in tangible ways.

Her presence among us was a living example of faith in action and a wonderful reminder of our place in a much larger story, one that stretches from our classrooms in Echuca to communities across the globe.

Homelessness Week at St Joseph’s College 

Last week, our community came together to shine a light on homelessness - what it really means, and how we can make a difference. 

From eye-catching displays to thought-provoking quizzes in LM and lunchtime, students explored the realities faced by those without a safe place to call home, and the ways we can offer support and hope.

A huge shoutout to our Living Justice Living Peace group for leading the charge! At St Joseph’s, we walk in solidarity with those in need and work for change - so that one day, everyone will have a roof over their head and a place to belong.
